About me

Ali Vil is an Iranian filmmaker and animator based in NYC. His most recent short filmed “The Silkroad,” was premiered in The Directors Guild of America and won the eighth Mumbai short-film Festival price and being officially selected in other international festivals.

He was part of the visual effects team for the documentary “Welcome to Chechnya,” which won a Sundance price for editing and the Berlin film festival for directing.

 Ali Vil graduated in 2019 from Fierstein Graduate School of Cinema and studied print media at The University of Art of Teheran. Currently, he works as a video editor and motion graphic artist for Real Vision Creative Studios.

 He is currently illustrating, storyboarding, and animating his project “Bluebird,” which he envisions as a short film, and constantly working on other personal passion projects.
